The aim of the training is to provide candidates with the necessary knowledge of the hazards for working in confined spaces, safe use of tools and equipment, control of hazards and developing an emergency procedure.

MODULE 2: UNDERSTANDING HAZARDS IN CONFINED SPACES

  • The Risks of Confined Spaces
  • Why Working in Confined Spaces is Hazardous?
  • Chemistry of Confined Spaces
    • Oxygen deficiency, toxic gases, flammability, and reactivity.
  • Atmospheric Hazards
    • Common hazardous gases (H2S, CO, etc.).

QUALIFICATION

Successful completion of the training will result in the award of confined space training certificate

OBJECTIVES

  • Carry out confined space air testing and monitoring
  • Work as confined space Supervisors, entrant and attendants
  • Development & implementation of safe entry operations
  • Recognize, evaluate, and control confined space hazards.
  • Promote safe and effective work practices.
  • Comply with company procedures and practices
  • Follow procedures necessary for any confined space entry.
  • Identify areas classified as confined spaces
